The History of the G.O.S. Fly
The G.O.S. Fly was first made in 1984 by tying plain knitting yarn directly onto a treble hook. Different colored yarns were kept on the Charter Boats so if the fish started biting on a different color, new flies could be tied as you were fishing.
The early ninety's saw an updated version of the G.O.S. appear with gold, silver and pearl flashabo tied with various colors of yarn.
Although it's primary purpose was trolling the G.O.S. flies for Salmon, they now attract all fresh and saltwater species.
The G.O.S. fly is tied by Captain Rick (Punch) White. Captain White has been in the charter business since 1984 and he gives you his personal guarantee that the G.O.S. fly catches fish.
Troll this fly 12 to 17 inches behind size OO or O red or silver dodgers.
These flies do not come with hooks. All good captains prefer their own method of hooking, either double single hooks, single singles, or treble hooks. You are left to your own preference. Good luck, and we're sure these flies will bring that to you.
